Former Asante Kotoko forward, Abdul Fatawu Safiu is shocked that Legon Cities were not aware about the health issues of goalkeeper William Essu.
Abdul Fatawu Safiu now becomes the second Ghanaian footballer to have called out Legon Cities about the health issues of goalkeeper William Essu.
Pictures of goalkeeper William Essu who is battling an unknown illness hit social media with many calling out Legon Cities to attend to the player.
Legon Cities responded to the social media calls but the lame response did little to convince a disappointed Fatawu.
“Kaish Ghana football. You telling us your attention was just drawn to your very own goalkeeper health issue meaning you people never knew,” he bemoaned in a post on Twitter.
Below is the full statement from Legon Cities:
“Our attention has been drawn to pictures of our goalkeeper William Essu circulating on various social media platforms with discussions on traditional media platforms.”
“We plead with the media and general public to be circumspect in the reportage of Essu’s health as all efforts are being made to address the player’s current situation.”
