Ghana striker Emmanuel Boateng has reached an agreement with Hapoel Tel Aviv FC and will soon finalise contractual terms to sign for the Isreali club, Sportsworldghana.com can exclusively report.

The ace striker will arrive in Israel within the next 24 hours and sign a season-and-a-half contract, subject to passing medical examinations.

Boateng (29), who previously played for Spain’s Levante and Portugal’s Rio Ave, joins Hapoel Tel Aviv FC from Gaziantep in the Turkish league.

Boateng who rose through Ghana’s U-17 and the U-20 ranks, cut his teeth with juvenile club, De Gunners FC before transferring to Charity Stars where his talent was perfectly honed. He made a successful move to Portuguese club Rio Ave after his blistering performance for Ghana youth teams before a spell at Moreirense.

He is remembered for scoring a hat-trick against Barcelona while playing for Levante, becoming the first Ghanaian and African player to chalk that feat in 2018 when Levante ended the Catalonians unbeaten run by 5-4 score line.

Boateng previously played in Saudi Arabia for Al Orobah, Dalian Yifang in the Chinese Super League. He is capped seven times by the senior national men’s team of Ghana with one goal to his credit.

Hapoel Tel Aviv, currently sits fourth on the League standings and will next play Netanya on Saturday 31st January, 2026 in a bid to secure victory to push their position in the League for an European competition slot come next season.
