Ghanaian international Kwesi Appiah is expected to join Indian Super League outfit Northeast United in the ongoing transfer window.
Appiah, 30, is currently a free agent after being released by English League 2 side Wimbledon earlier this summer.
Sportsworldghana.com can exclusively reveal that new Northeast United head coach Gerard Nus who shared the same agent with Appiah and also worked with him previously at the Ghana senior national team is ready to bring him to the I-League.
Northeast United have struggled to find a replacement for former Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan whose contract was terminated some months ago after series of injuries and Nus believes Appiah can fill the void.
Appiah has played for clubs including Crystal Palace, Cambridge United, Viking, Notts County and a host of others.
