English-born Ghanaian teenager Gatlin O’Donkor has been officially been handed a place in the Oxford United main team.
O’Donkor, 16, has been on fire for the Under 18’s this campaign scoring for fun which has made senior team coach Craig Short to bring him to his fold.
He became the youngest ever player in the history of Oxford United to feature for the senior team when he came on as a substitute in the FA Cup match against Forest Green last week at the age of 16 years 55 days and went on to score in the penalty shootout.
Sportsworldghana.com can exclusively reveal that O’Donkor will continue with the senior side but will only be restricted to featuring in the Cup Games this season.
Born to Ghanaian parents in Oxford, O’Donkor is currently being courted by the English national Under 17 team coaches.
