Former Ghana assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has asked the Black Stars players not to be selfish at the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.
According to him, Ghana can thrive at the World Cup in Qatar if the players exhibit the spirit of togetherness and not selfishness.
He believes the Black Stars have got what it takes to cause surprise at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Konadu said: “I’m very hopeful that the Blackstars can surprise any team including Portugal. “We must also be wary that our team is a new team as compared to Portugal who has been together for a longer period.
“One thing our strikers need to avoid is not to personalize goal scoring just for personal glory or to announce their presence at the World. They must play as a team and with that they have the potential to blossom.”
Ghana will start their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign with a game against European giant Portugal on November 24 at Stadium 974 in Doha.
Four days later, the Black Stars return to action with a clash against the Asian powerhouse South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.
The Black Stars who are making their fourth FIFA appearance will end their group stage campaign with a clash against Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.
