‘Fix the problem and stop complaining’ – Mohammed Polo jabs Hearts of Oak coach Martin Koopman

Former Hearts of Oak coach, Mohammed Polo, has called upon the current coach, Martin Koopman, to find solutions to the club’s recent problems.

The Phobians have struggled, winning only one game and scoring a single goal in their first five matches of the Ghana Premier League season.

Koopman recently defended his team’s goal-scoring difficulties, linking the issue to the Black Stars. In response to Koopman’s remarks, Polo emphasized the need for the Dutch coach to address the club’s challenges and questioned the competence of foreign coaches.

Polo expressed his surprise that African teams still place more trust in white coaches over their local counterparts. He underlined that Koopman needs to find the solutions, as that is the primary reason he was hired in the first place. Polo also raised concerns about the possibility of Hearts of Oak facing relegation if corrective measures are not taken promptly.

In the 2022-2023 league season, Hearts of Oak finished 12th, and Polo emphasized the importance of learning from past experiences to avoid a similar fate in the current season.

“From the way things are going, if care is not taken, it might get out of hand. Last season, Hearts of Oak battled relegation and it seems they haven’t learned anything from it,” Polo concluded in his interview with Connect 97.1 FM.
