Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC forward Isaac Oppong was on the score sheet for CSF Spartanii Sportul as they secured their first win of the 2024/25 Moldovan Superliga season on Saturday with a narrow 1-0 victory over Dacia-2 Buiucani at Baza Zimbru 2 Stadium.
The match was decided by Isaac Oppong, a new addition to the Gladiators, who found the back of the net in the 58th minute, marking his first goal for the club.
Oppong, a 21-year-old Ghanaian winger, joined Spartanii Sportul this summer after leaving Asante Kotoko by mutual agreement. In just his second appearance for the club, he made an immediate impact by scoring the winning goal that ended his team’s winless streak against Dacia-2 Buiucani.
This victory not only gave Spartanii Sportul their first points of the season but also highlighted Oppong’s potential as a key player for the team. His goal broke the deadlock in a match where Dacia-2 Buiucani had historically held the upper hand, with three wins and a draw in their previous encounters.
The Gladiators will look to build on this positive start as they prepare to face FC Balti on August 24th, hoping to continue their winning momentum.
