Ghanaian midfielder Augustine Boakye showcased his talent as he played a pivotal role in Wolfsberger AC’s commanding 4-1 victory over WSG Tirol in the Austrian Bundesliga.
Boakye, formerly of WAFA, was instrumental in his team’s win, starting the match and providing two crucial assists before being substituted in the 59th minute.
His first assist came early in the game, as he set up Thierno Ballo to open the scoring for Wolfsberger just eight minutes into the match.
Boakye’s impact continued in the 30th minute when he provided another assist for Ballo, helping Wolfsberger double their advantage before halftime.
After the break, Wolfsberger didn’t let up, with Bernhard Zimmermann adding a third goal just five minutes into the second half.
Although Tirol managed to pull one back in the 75th minute through Osarenren Okungbowa, Wolfsberger sealed the win with a goal from Adis Jasic.
Boakye’s stellar performance further solidified his status as a key player for Wolfsberger this season. With six assists, he leads the league in assists and boasts the highest goal involvement (11) in the league. Additionally, Boakye has created nine big chances for his team in the Austrian Bundesliga, highlighting his importance to Wolfsberger’s success.
