French Ligue 1 side, AS Monaco are the latest club to show strong interest in signing Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey this summer from Arsenal FC.
Despite the Saudi club negotiating team arrival in London to begin formal discussions with the aim of completing a move to sign Thomas Partey, other clubs including Monaco are hopeful to snatch the midfielder.
Currently, talks are happening between Arsenal and other clubs and the camp of the player as the London club ready to do business with the club that meets their asking price.
According to astute journalist, Ignazio Genuardi,the Ghanaian international midfielder’s representatives are working on a summer exit.
The Athletic have also reported that there is interest from Saudi Arabia in the former Atletico Madrid midfielder, whose contract with The Gunners runs until 2025.
However, according to Genuardi, there is also interest from Europe. Monaco are notably interested, as are clubs in Italy including Inter Milan and AC Milan respectively.
Monaco desperately needs a midfielder are likely to be in the market for a midfielder this summer. The Principality club looked to Arsenal in January and were interested in Sambi Lokonga before the Belgian instead made a loan move to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.
However, Les Monégasques’ need for reinforcements could be more pressing this summer, given that Youssouf Fofana is being strongly linked with a departure which has led the club to turn its attention to signing Partey for £40m.
Monaco would have to convince Partey with a beautiful project for him to join the club after he was approached by big money spending clubs in Saudi Arabia.
