German-born Ghanaian defender Maxwell Gyamfi found the back of the net for VfL Osnabruck as they faced Elversberg in a German Bundesliga 2 away fixture.

Despite their defeat, the 24-year-old Ghanaian put in a solid performance, starting and playing the full duration of the match.

Elversberg secured victory in the first half with goals from Manuel Feil, Hugo Vandermersch, and Paul Wanner.

Manuel Feil opened the scoring for the home team in the 36th minute, followed by Hugo Vandermersch two minutes later. Germany international Paul Wanner extended their lead just before halftime.

Gyamfi managed to grab a consolation goal for VfL Osnabruck in the 52nd minute, but it wasn’t enough to alter the outcome of the match, which ended 3-1 in favor of Elversberg.

Despite the loss, Gyamfi has been a consistent presence for VfL Osnabruck this season, making 23 appearances across all competitions and contributing with one goal.
