German-Ghanaian defender Hendry Blank could be on his way out of Red Bull Salzburg, with Eintracht Braunschweig reportedly interested in signing the centre-back in a potential move to the 2. Bundesliga.
The 22-year-old defender remains under contract with Salzburg until June 2028, but he has yet to make an appearance for the Austrian side this season.
Blank has been an unused substitute in four Austrian Bundesliga matches, one Austrian Cup fixture and four UEFA Europa League qualifying games, raising questions over his immediate first-team opportunities.
The centre-back returned to Salzburg in June after spending the 2025/26 season on loan at Hannover 96, where he gained valuable experience in German football.
A move to Eintracht Braunschweig would see Blank return to the German second tier, where he could seek more regular playing time.
Blank joined Salzburg from Borussia Dortmund II in February 2024 in a deal worth around €4 million, having previously developed through Dortmund’s youth system. He was part of the Dortmund team that won the German U19 Bundesliga title in the 2021/22 season.
The defender, who holds Ghanaian heritage through his background, currently has a reported market value of €1.2 million and remains tied to Salzburg on a long-term contract.
No agreement has been reached yet, but Braunschweig are monitoring the situation as Salzburg evaluate their defensive options and Blank’s prospects of earning more minutes.
For now, Hendry Blank remains a Salzburg player as he looks for his first appearance of the 2026/27 campaign.
