Ragnar Ache delivered an impressive performance as 1. FC Köln played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach at the RheinEnergieSTADION.

The 27-year-old forward featured for 77 minutes and made a key impact by scoring one of Köln’s goals in a fiercely contested encounter.

The visitors made a lightning start, with Jens Castrop opening the scoring inside the first minute. Köln responded quickly through Saïd El Mala, who equalised in the 4th minute after being set up by Isak Bergmann Jóhannesson.

Köln then took control, with Ache finishing clinically in the 7th minute from an assist by Jakub Kamiński to give the hosts the lead.

Gladbach fought back, with Philipp Sander restoring parity in the 20th minute before Castrop grabbed his second after the break to put the visitors ahead once more.

Köln, however, showed resilience and were rewarded late on when Eric Martel struck in the 84th minute to secure a share of the spoils in an entertaining contest.

Ache’s goal adds to an impressive campaign for the striker, who has now registered six goals and four assists in 26 Bundesliga appearances, underlining his importance to Köln’s attack.
