Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, has dismissed worries about players arriving late to the Black Stars camp ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
Addressing the concerns, Asante Twum emphasized that such delays are common, particularly because most of the squad members play for clubs outside Ghana.
“It’s very common [for players to arrive late in camp], especially when 90% of your players play abroad,” he stated in an interview with Sporty FM.
The Black Stars officially began their training camp on Monday, with just nine players participating in the opening session, which included shooting drills, passing exercises, and stretching routines.
However, the rest of the squad has since reported to camp and is expected to join the team’s training session on Tuesday evening.
With a full team now available, head coach Otto Addo and his technical staff will focus on fine-tuning their tactics as they prepare for the crucial Group I matches.
Ghana will take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before heading to Morocco to face Madagascar on Monday.
