Black Stars captain Andre Ayew is on the verge of finalizing a transfer to Turkish Super Lig outfit Fatih Karagümrük SK.
The 33-year-old winger has already arrived in Istanbul to continue negotiations with Fatih, although nothing has been officially confirmed yet, as another Turkish club is also expressing interest in signing him.
Ayew has been without a club since his departure from Premier League side Nottingham Forest at the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, during which he made 13 appearances under manager Steve Cooper.
The experienced player had recently been linked with a potential return to the Premier League, with newly-promoted Sheffield United closely monitoring his situation. Additionally, former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney, who is presently coaching DC United, had expressed interest in acquiring the services of the Ghanaian international.
Ayew previously had a stint in Turkey with the renowned club Fenerbahce, amassing 38 appearances across all competitions, during which he scored five goals and provided two assists.
The Ghanaian captain made the move to Nottingham Forest in February of the same year after mutually terminating his contract with Qatari club Al Sadd.
Throughout his career, the former Marseille man has also had spells at Swansea City, West Ham United, FC Lorient, and Arles-Avignon.
