Ghana FA Presidential race leading candidate George Akwasi Afriyie used the weekend to demonstrate his firm believe and trust in grassroots football as he graced the 2019 Greater Accra Regional Football Association Special Competition.
The CAF AFCON Organising Committee kingpin spent hours at the Accra Sports Stadium encouraging young ambitious footballers who played in the competition.
Attram De-Visser FC emerged champions of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association Special Competition after beating Charity Stars 5-4 on penalties after the 90 minutes ended goalless.
Afriyie, former Ghana FA Juvenile Committee Head, presented medals to players and officials who part-took in the competition and seized the opportunity to assure players, administrators and fans of his commitment to developing and promoting grassroots football in the country.
The renowned football administrator is regarded by all and sundry as the right candidate to lead Ghana football. Football fans in the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions unanimously picked the former Ghana FA Vice President as their choice to lead Ghana during a voting contest organised by Sunyani-based Nimdie FM last week.
