New Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has delivered a heartfelt message to Ghanaians, praising the country’s rich football heritage while pledging full commitment to his new role.
The experienced Portuguese tactician, in his first official address since taking charge of the senior national team, described Ghana as a nation deeply rooted in football excellence, highlighting its immense talent, pride, and unique sporting identity.
“Ghana is a nation of talent, pride, and footballing soul. I arrive with respect for its history and belief in its future,” Queiroz stated.
The former Real Madrid and Iran coach expressed deep gratitude to the Ghana Football Association for the opportunity, stressing that he is embracing the role with humility and a strong sense of responsibility.
According to Queiroz, his appointment goes beyond a typical coaching job, describing it as a mission to serve the country and contribute to the growth and success of the Black Stars, especially with the 2026 FIFA World Cup in sight.
“Football has given me a lifetime of challenges, lessons, and unforgettable journeys across the world. Today, I accept this mission with the same passion and commitment that have guided me throughout my career,” he said.
Queiroz also emphasized that success with the Black Stars will require collective effort, discipline, and a shared ambition among players, technical staff, and supporters.
“Together, with unity, discipline, and ambition, we will work to honour the expectations of a great football nation,” he added.
