Ghana international Ibrahim Sulemana has emerged as a transfer target for Serie A side Sassuolo, with the midfielder’s future at Atalanta currently under discussion.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder is yet to make an appearance for Atalanta in the 2026/27 Serie A season and has also been left out of the club’s UEFA Conference League qualifying matches.
Sulemana returned to Bergamo at the end of June after completing a loan spell at Cagliari during the second half of last season. The Ghanaian first joined Cagliari on loan in January after spending the opening part of the campaign with Bologna.
The midfielder joined Atalanta from Cagliari in July 2024 for €7.4 million and remains under contract with the club until 30 June 2028.
Sulemana has built his career in Italy, having previously represented Hellas Verona, Cagliari and Atalanta, gaining valuable Serie A experience since making his senior debut.
A move to Sassuolo would allow the Ghanaian midfielder to continue his development in Italy while seeking more regular playing time.
However, no agreement has been reached yet, and Sulemana remains an Atalanta player as both clubs continue preparations for the new season.
