Spanish giants Real Madrid are in advanced negotiations to sign highly-rated Ghanaian midfielder Latif Issman from CD Logroñés, with the teenager expected to join Real Madrid Castilla this season if an agreement is reached.
According to reports from El Chiringuito TV, Issman has a €500,000 release clause, but both clubs are working towards a negotiated transfer rather than triggering the clause outright. The deal is understood to be at an advanced stage.
The Ghanaian youngster has emerged as one of the brightest prospects at CD Logroñés after progressing through the club’s academy and breaking into the senior team. Comfortable in central midfield, Issman is admired for his composure on the ball, passing range and tactical intelligence.
Issman is a 19-year-old central midfielder who has steadily risen through the ranks at CD Logroñés. Standing at 1.82 metres, he is capable of operating as a deep-lying playmaker or box-to-box midfielder, combining defensive discipline with excellent distribution.
During the 2025/26 season, Issman enjoyed his breakthrough campaign with CD Logroñés, making 21 first-team appearances in the Segunda Federación. He accumulated 473 minutes of action, helping the club earn promotion while showcasing his potential against senior opposition. He also featured eight times for Logroñés B, continuing his development with regular minutes.
Issman has been promoted to CD Logroñés’ first-team squad for the 2026/27 campaign following his impressive performances last season and was expected to play a bigger role before Real Madrid’s interest intensified.
A move to Real Madrid Castilla would represent a significant step in the Ghanaian midfielder’s career, giving him the opportunity to develop within one of the world’s most prestigious football academies and potentially follow the pathway to the Real Madrid first team.
