Aduana Stars delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday afternoon to secure a 2-0 victory over Hearts of Oak in a crucial Ghana Premier League encounter at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, stretching their unbeaten run against the Phobians to eight matches.
The Ogya Boys asserted control from the onset and took a deserved lead in the 31st minute through captain Sam Adams, who calmly converted after orchestrating play from midfield. The skipper led by example, dictating tempo and anchoring the team’s shape throughout the match.
Hearts of Oak, hoping to turn the tide in the second half, introduced Yahaya, Boateng, Oppong Afrane, and Karikari in a bid to inject urgency and creativity. However, the substitutions made little impact as Aduana’s disciplined defense absorbed pressure and denied the visitors any clear-cut chances.
Aduana sealed the three points in the 88th minute when Ivorian substitute Abdel Latif Bamba, who had been introduced just 10 minutes earlier, finished off a late break with a composed strike to double the lead.
The win lifts Aduana further from the drop zone and continues their impressive home record against Hearts, having beaten them in all five home encounters since the 2020/21 season.
For the Phobians, the defeat is a significant setback in their bid for a top-three finish, as their inconsistency and attacking struggles persist.
