On Saturday, Legon Cities clinched a hard-fought victory over Hearts of Oak on matchday-27 of the Ghana Premier League, courtesy of two second-half goals from Albert Yeboah.

Yeboah’s brace proved decisive as he broke through the Phobians’ defense to maintain Legon Cities’ unbeaten run at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

The forward opened the scoring for the Royals in the 54th minute before sealing victory with a powerful header 12 minutes later.

This crucial win propels Legon Cities to 11th place on the table, while Hearts of Oak now occupy 10th position.

Legon Cities had to overcome Hearts of Oak’s resilient defense, with Albert Yeboah breaking the deadlock nine minutes into the second half before doubling the lead in the 64th minute.

On Sunday, Asante Kotoko bounced back to record a narrow 1-0 win over league leaders FC Samartex 1996 to ease the pressure on coach Dr Prosper Nartey Ogum on matchday-27 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Enoch Morrison’s second half penalty separated the two teams at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Asante Kotoko hit the post in a thrilling first half contest before they broke the deadlock courtesy Enock Morrison’s sublime penalty strike in the 57th minute.

In what has been a tumultuous week for the Ghanaian giants, Kotoko will heave a sigh of relief as calm is restored following a streak of unflattering results.

Kotoko have now leapfrogged arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in 10th position with 36 points after recording their first win in eight matches.

Samartex maintain their five-point lead at the top of the table despite the defeat after Nations FC and Aduana Stars failed to take advantage of the slip.

Nsoatreman FC pulled the chest nut out of the blazing fire with a remarkable comeback win over basement boys Real Tamale United (RTU) on Sunday.

The Nsoatre-based side recorded a 2-1 win against the relegation threatened side at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex in Nalerigu.

Alhassan Mankuyeli opened the scoring for the home in the 26th minute before Issah Ahmed turned the ball into his own net to put the visitors back into the game.

Collins Kofi Kudjoe secured victory for the visitors after scoring three minutes into injury time to make their journey to their home a joyful one.

Heart of Lions are still involved in the relegation dog-fight despite their impressive 3-0 win over second-placed Nations FC in Kpando.

Mohaison Mahmoud opened the floodgate with a 9th minute strike before further goals from Akwasi Bentil (65) and Nana Kwame Oppong (90+3) secured victory for the home side.

Despite the heavy win, Lions are still in the relegation trap-net as they lie 17th on the league table.

Bechem United drew 1-1 at Bofoakwa Tano in the Bono derby at the Coronation Park in Sunyani on Sunday.

Boat-At Regain scored first for the visitors in the 29th minute before Bashiru Abu pulled parity eight minutes later.

The two teams shared the spoils after they failed to break down each other.

United are now 6th on the league table while Bofoakwa remain just above the drop zone.

Bibiani GoldStars FC recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Aduana Stars FC to return to winning ways.

Alex Aso’s 43rd minute strike separated the two teams at the Duns park.

GoldStars are now 8th on the table with 38 points from 27 matches while Aduana remain third with 42 points.

And on last game of matchweek 27, Berekum Chelsea completed the double over Medeama with a 2-0 win to move up 5th on the table.

Two-second half goals from Hubert Gyau Banahene and Mezack Afriyie delivered victory for Samuel Boadu’s men at the Golden City park.

Chelsea have jumped to 5th on the league table with 41 points while the defending champions have dropped to 8th with seven games to end the season.
