Nations FC secured a decisive 3-1 victory over Holy Stars on Sunday afternoon at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, marking their return to winning form and solidifying their position in the league’s top three.
The home side started strongly, with Black Stars defender Razak Simpson opening the scoring in the first half after capitalizing on a defensive error. Faisal Charwetey doubled the lead shortly after, finishing clinically to take his season tally to nine goals, maintaining his status as the league’s top scorer.
Holy Stars, who had been unbeaten in their last two matches, struggled to contain the relentless attacking pressure from Nations FC. Emmanuel Annor sealed the win with a stunning volley that left the goalkeeper with no chance.
Although Emmanuel Agyei managed to score a late consolation goal for the visitors, it was not enough to change the outcome. Nations FC comfortably controlled the game until the final whistle.
The victory keeps Nations FC in third place on the league table, just one point behind the leaders, as they continue their pursuit of the top spot. Holy Stars, meanwhile, slip to 11th following their first defeat in three matches.
Nations FC will look to build on this dominant performance as they prepare for their next fixture.
