Hearts of Oak defender Michael Ampadu has expressed his joy after resolving differences with head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, clearing the way for his return to training on Monday.
The club announced the reconciliation in a statement on Sunday, January 5, calling it a significant step forward for both the player and the team.
“Our right-back, Michael Ampadu, has ‘Smoked the Peace Pipe’ with head coach Aboubakar Ouattara and is set to return to training on Monday as the team resumes preparations for the remainder of the season.
“Ampadu and coach Ouattara have officially mended their differences after the player expressed deep remorse and rendered an unqualified apology during a visit to the coach’s residence,” the club shared on X.
In a statement to Hearts of Oak’s communications team, Ampadu expressed gratitude to the club’s leadership and his teammates for their support during the reconciliation process.
“I’m happy to have smoked the peace pipe with my father, Ouattara. I want to thank the club’s president for his positive influence and my teammates for their advice and encouragement. I promise to give my best and fight for the badge as we move forward together,” Ampadu said.
As Hearts of Oak prepares for the second half of the 2024/25 season, Ampadu’s return is expected to boost both the team’s morale and defensive capabilities.
