Ghana’s Sports Minister-Designate, Kofi Iddie Adams, faces renewed calls to address the unresolved 2018 Australian Visa Scandal, which brought embarrassment to the nation.
The scandal involved eight individuals who falsely claimed to be journalists covering the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, only for Australian authorities to uncover their deception and deport them.
In total, 12 Ghanaians were repatriated during the event, further damaging the country’s reputation.
“As for the Australian visa scandal, is a matter we will go into and investigate and punish those who must be punished,so the other nations can treat Ghana as a serious nation,” Kofi Adams said on Sporty FM.
With the issue still unresolved, attention now turns to Adams to see if he will take decisive steps to investigate and provide clarity on the lingering questions surrounding the scandal.
