Ghanaian Center-back Jonathan Mensah opened his goal account for Columbus Crew SC away at Atlanta United FC on Saturday evening.
The Ghanaian international scored the opening goal of the match to put the Yellow and Blacks outfit in a 1-0 lead just before 60 seconds.
He rose highest in the box to meet a corner kick with a beautiful header into the center of the goal to put the visitors in front.
Erik Hurtado made it 2-0 at the stroke of half time to give Columbus Crew a breathing room at the break.
Mensah remained resolute at the back for his team with a commanding performance at the heart of defense.
The host reduced the deficit to one right at the end of the match to make it 2-1 as Mensah and his colleagues took all three points home.
