Ghanaian defender Nicholas Opoku has praised Kasimpasa’s remarkable team spirit following their thrilling 3-3 draw against Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig.
Opoku, who recently joined Kasimpasa during the summer transfer window, played the full 90 minutes and delivered an impressive performance, helping his team secure a valuable away point.
After the match, Opoku expressed his pride in the team’s resilience. He took to social media, writing, “We never gave up. Great team spirit,” on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Galatasaray took an early lead with two goals from Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, the first coming in the 20th minute and the second just eight minutes later. The home side then extended their dominance when Mauro Icardi added a third goal in the 34th minute.
However, Kasimpasa showed great determination and started their comeback just before halftime, when Mamadou Fall scored to cut the deficit. In the second half, Kasimpasa continued to fight back. Bosnia-Herzegovina international Haris Hajradinovic scored in the 83rd minute, and Nuno Da Costa’s dramatic stoppage-time goal secured a hard-fought draw.
Opoku has been a standout performer since joining Kasimpasa, making six appearances in the league so far this season, as the club aims to build on their strong start to the campaign.
