Their journey to this top division comes right after AJ Auxerre’s big win, securing their immediate promotion from Ligue 2.
Auxerre sealed their spot in the next Ligue 1 season with a strong 2-0 win over Paris Football Club.
The crucial goals came from Lassine Sinayoko in the 22nd minute and Ado Onaiwu in the 57th minute, sealing the important victory.
This win widened Auxerre’s lead at the top of the Ligue 2 standings to six points, with only two matches left in the season.
Their next matches are against Amiens SC and Concarneau on Friday, May 10, and Friday, May 17, which will wrap up their season.
Mensah and Owusu played key roles in Auxerre’s success, contributing greatly to the team’s comeback.
Mensah, playing as a fullback-wingback, provided two assists in his 24 league appearances, while Owusu played in 32 league games, scoring one goal and giving two assists.
