Ghanaian forward Koby Arthur has completed a move to English National League side Leamington FC ahead of the 2026/27 season after impressing during a successful trial period.
The 30-year-old striker, born in Kumasi, Ghana, earned a contract with the Brakes after featuring throughout their pre-season preparations, helping the club win the Illum Davis Foundation Trophy in Guernsey.
Leamington manager Scott Easterlow praised Arthur’s ability and believes the experienced forward can rediscover his best form.
“Kobes is a player with great ability; he just needs to find his best form on a regular basis. He’s had a little setback in pre-season with injury, but he’s showed us more than enough of what he’s capable of,” Easterlow said.
Arthur began his professional career with Birmingham City, where he progressed through the academy before making his senior debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He later gained valuable experience through loan spells at Lincoln City and Cheltenham Town, competing in the National League and League Two, before joining Macclesfield Town following his release from Birmingham.
At Macclesfield, Arthur played a key role in the club’s National League title-winning campaign, before continuing his career with several English non-league clubs, including Kidderminster Harriers, Dover Athletic, Maidenhead United and Hereford.
In recent seasons, the forward has also featured for Stourbridge, Rushall Olympic, Barwell, Bromsgrove Sporting and Darlaston Town, adding further experience across England’s lower divisions.
