Ghanaian forward Kwasi Wriedt showcased his scoring prowess with a brilliant second-half brace, but his efforts were not enough to save Manisa from a 3-2 loss to Amedspor in the Turkish First Division.
Amedspor took control early, with goals from Yilmaz Ceylan, Britt Assombalonga, and Bruno Lourenco securing the victory for the home side.
Wriedt, a former Bayern Munich academy player, sparked hope for Manisa with goals in the 54th and 63rd minutes, igniting a spirited push for an equalizer. Despite his impressive display, Manisa fell short in their comeback bid.
Since joining Manisa, the 30-year-old striker has scored three goals in 14 league appearances. However, the defeat leaves the team in a challenging position, sitting 17th on the league table with 17 points after 14 games.
With pressure mounting, Manisa FK must regroup quickly as they aim to climb out of the relegation zone and improve their fortunes in the Turkish First Division.
