On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Mathew Cudjoe netted his first goal for Israeli club Bnei Sakhnin, helping secure a 2-1 victory over Beitar Jerusalem in the Israeli Premier League.
The 20-year-old Ghanaian talent, who joined the team on a free transfer just three weeks earlier, made an impact in his third appearance. His powerful shot in the 54th minute, fired from inside the penalty area, doubled Bnei Sakhnin’s lead.
The goal began when Cudjoe, near the center of the field, passed the ball to Obeida Darwish on the right wing. Darwish then delivered a cross into the box, setting up Cudjoe for a stunning finish to make it 2-0.
Earlier in the match, Cudjoe had already made his mark, assisting Konstantinos Sotiriou for the opening goal in the 12th minute. Beitar Jerusalem managed to pull one back in the 57th minute, but Bnei Sakhnin held on for the win.
