Boateng had to be quarantined after he had returned to Ghana to attend to personal matters which was allowed by his club.
However, as per regulations in Israel, the 23-year-old had to go into self-isolation in a bid to prove he had not contracted Covid-19.
The Ghanaian international came off the bench to replace Osher Davida in the 55th-minute mark of the game.
Despite coming on in the second half, Boateng put up a spectacular performance Tel Aviv as he controlled the midfield with some intelligent passes and thunderous moves.
The crucial fixture failed to produce any goal after the first 45 minutes.
Back from recess, both teams pushed for victory but it was the home side who proved more purposeful upfront as they finally grabbed the winner in the 75th minute, thanks to Mohammad Ghadir’s fine strike.
