Rio Ave’s forward, Emmanuel Boateng, is set to miss the upcoming Portuguese Liga match against Sporting due to a muscle injury.

The Ghanaian international was noticeably absent from the team’s training session on Friday, making him the sole player unavailable for the match.

This unfortunate injury setback has left Head Coach Luís Freire without the services of Boateng for the forthcoming game.

Boateng is currently dealing with a muscle injury in his right thigh, the same condition that sidelined him during their recent league fixture against Famalicão.

According to the Rio Ave camp, the 27-year-old is expected to undergo several weeks of rehabilitation to recover from his injury.

Emmanuel Boateng has yet to find the back of the net this season after scoring six goals in the league last season. He missed Rio Ave’s previous match, a 1-1 draw at home against Famalicao, and his absence continues as he works on his recovery.

So far this season, Boateng has appeared in six matches across various competitions for Rio Ave, participating in two League Cup fixtures and four league encounters.
