The 19-year-old striker’s new deal will keep him with the club until the end of the 2028 season.
IF Elfsborg officially confirmed the extension, highlighting Abdulai’s potential and his integral role in the team’s future plans. The announcement was made through a club statement that praised the young forward’s progress since joining the team.
“I believe this is absolutely the right place for me to be,” Abdulai said after securing his extended stay. “The club has treated me very well, and I am happy to continue my development here. The coaching staff and my teammates have been fantastic in helping me adapt and grow.”
Abdulai reflected on his initial challenges adapting to European football but expressed enthusiasm for the club’s goals. “It took a while to adapt, but with the support of the experienced players and the coaching staff, I have been able to improve,” he added. “I have always dreamed of playing in Europe, and now we are there. My aim is to help the team succeed in the Allsvenskan and to compete regularly in European competitions.”
IF Elfsborg’s manager, Stefan Andreasson, praised Abdulai’s talent and potential: “Jalal has demonstrated significant talent and promise during his first year with us. Extending his contract until 2028 is a testament to our belief in his future impact at the club.”
