Swedish top-flight club Malmo FF have completed the signing of promising 18-year-old Ghanaian forward Yassin Mohammed, marking a significant step in the club’s strategy to strengthen its youth ranks with top international talent.
Mohammed earned a contract after impressing during an extended trial period with Malmo’s U19 side, where his performances outshone other trialists and drew praise from the club’s technical staff.
Born and raised in Ghana, the young striker caught the attention of Malmo’s scouting team with his agility, intelligent positioning, and natural attacking instincts. His consistent displays and adaptability during training sessions ultimately secured him a spot in the squad.
“Yassin is a talented striker who our chief scout Jeffrey Aubynn discovered on a scouting trip to Ghana,” said Ola Toivonen, Malmo’s assistant sporting director. “He has great timing in his runs and we believe he has strong development potential within our system.”
Mohammed will initially join Malmo’s P19 (U19) team, where he will receive formal coaching and close monitoring as part of his development pathway.
The signing highlights Malmo FF’s continued focus on nurturing global talent, particularly from Africa, a region where the club has previously found several successful additions through targeted scouting missions.
