Ghana international Frank Acheampong has wrapped up a spectacular season in China, finishing the recently ended Chinese Super League campaign with an impressive tally of 14 goals after 30 matches.

His explosive performance has cemented his reputation as one of the league’s most dynamic and reliable attackers.

Acheampong’s goal haul marks a historic milestone for Henan FC, as he becomes the first African player to emerge as the club’s top scorer in a single Chinese Super League season. His consistency and professionalism have earned him widespread praise across both China and Ghana.

The 31-year-old attacker has been the driving force behind Henan’s frontline, delivering goals in crucial moments and keeping the club competitive throughout the season. Supporters of Henan FC have hailed him as the spark that illuminated what had been a challenging period for the team.

Completing the season with 14 goals places Acheampong among the standout performers of the 2024/2025 Chinese Super League. His tally not only reflects his attacking brilliance but also his resilience and adaptability in a league filled with elite international and local talent.Beyond league action, Acheampong also played a crucial role in Henan FC’s historic journey in the Chinese FA Cup, where the club made a dramatic return to the tournament after a 30-year absence.

The former RSC Anderlecht star’s influence was felt throughout their impressive cup run.Henan’s return to the FA Cup became one of the compelling stories of Chinese football this year, with Acheampong emerging as one of the key architects of the team’s revival.

His contributions both on and off the pitch added urgency and belief to Henan’s campaign. The club defied expectations and pushed all the way to the FA Cup final, a remarkable achievement considering their long hiatus from the competition. Acheampong’s leadership and attacking threat were central to that success.

Although Henan fell 3–0 to Beijing Guoan in last weekend’s final, the team’s journey was widely celebrated across the league. For the club’s supporters, reaching the final for the first time in decades was a moment of restored pride—one Acheampong helped make possible. The Chinese FA Cup, organized by the Chinese Football Association, remains one of the nation’s most prestigious football competitions. Beijing Guoan’s victory secured their sixth title, but Henan’s unexpected run became an inspiring subplot of the tournament.Henan FC ultimately finished the Super League season in 10th place with 37 points, a respectable position that reflected both their challenges and their moments of brilliance—many of which were sparked by Acheampong’s goals.

Acheampong’s 2024/2025 season will be remembered not only for his 14-goal tally but also for his leadership, maturity, and the credibility he helped restore to Henan FC. He has become a symbol of dedication and a source of pride for both club and country.

As he looks ahead to the next chapter, Frank Acheampong stands tall as one of Ghana’s finest exports—an attacker whose determination and excellence have reshaped Henan FC’s fortunes and captivated fans across the Chinese football landscape.
