First Vienna FC showcased a dominant performance at Stadion Hohe Warte, securing a 3-0 victory over Austria Lustenau in Round 13 of the 2. Liga.
Kelvin Boateng took center stage, scoring twice to lead Vienna’s charge. The Ghanaian forward opened the scoring in the sixth minute, calmly finishing after a precise pass from Bernhard Luxbacher set him up for an early goal.
Boateng continued his impressive form by adding a second goal in the 24th minute. A long ball from goalkeeper Unger was cleverly flicked forward by Ochs, and Boateng controlled it smoothly before slotting it past the keeper, extending Vienna’s lead to 2-0.
Austria Lustenau struggled to find a response to Vienna’s pressure and creativity throughout the match. As the clock neared full time, Gionte Diomand capped off the victory in the 83rd minute. He pounced on a rebound from Edelhofer’s shot, which had been parried by the Lustenau keeper, and calmly found the back of the net.
Boateng’s brace brought his season tally to six goals in just 12 appearances, highlighting his key role in Vienna’s rise in the league standings.
