Asante Kotoko maintained their unbeaten start to the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season after drawing 1-1 with FC Samartex at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday.
Goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad played a decisive role for the Porcupine Warriors, saving a penalty in the 66th minute to keep Kotoko in the contest.
Nine minutes later, Kotoko took the lead through former Samartex striker Emmanuel Mamah, who rose above the defence to connect with Walid’s cross and send a superb header into the top corner.
However, Kotoko’s advantage lasted just eight minutes as Christian Agyenim Boateng equalised for Samartex to secure a share of the spoils.
The result means Kotoko are still without an away victory after three league matches, although they remain unbeaten with five points.
Samartex move into second position on the league table, level on points with leaders Hearts of Oak.
Kotoko will return home to face Aduana FC in their next league fixture, while Samartex will travel to take on Swedru All Blacks.
