In a remarkable turnaround, Bibiani GoldStars claimed a resounding 3-0 victory over FC Samartex at Dun’s Park on Sunday during match week 15 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
This significant win marks the first victory for the home side in ten matches, with their last league triumph occurring two months ago against RTU. Former Inter Allies player Alex Aso played a crucial role in securing the much-needed victory.
Aso opened the scoring 17 minutes into the game, marking Frimpong Manso’s debut as head coach of Bibiani GoldStars. He extended the lead with his second goal in the 68th minute, making it 2-0 for the home side. Prince Kwabena Owusu added the final touch, scoring in the 80th minute to seal the match with a 3-0 victory.
This win propels Bibiani GoldStars out of the relegation zone, placing them in 14th position with 15 points. Meanwhile, FC Samartex, now standing in second place with 26 points, will look to bounce back as they host Karela United in their upcoming fixture.
Bibiani GoldStars will face defending champions Medeama Sporting Club in their next match on the final day of the year during match week 16 of the Ghana Premier League.
