Emmanuel Quartsin Gyasi has credited his early years in Ghana as a major influence on both his personal life and football career.
The Palermo forward explained that although he was born in Sicily, he spent a significant part of his childhood in Ghana, where he lived with his grandparents and experienced life in its simplest form. According to him, that period helped him understand his roots and build strong personal values.
Gyasi noted that growing up in Ghana taught him discipline, resilience, and appreciation for little things. He recalled playing football on the streets with friends, often without proper boots or even a real ball, but still finding joy in the game. He described those moments as formative, saying they helped shape his character and passion for football.
He believes the humble beginnings and freedom of street football in Ghana played a key role in developing his love for the game and strengthening him mentally for the challenges he later faced in professional football.
