Hearts of Oak is on the cusp of making a significant addition to their squad, as they are set to finalize a permanent contract with former Legon Cities striker Kwabena Boateng.
The 18-year-old forward underwent a successful medical evaluation on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, and is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Phobians in the coming days.
Boateng’s move to Hearts of Oak comes as a free transfer, following the conclusion of his contract with Legon Cities at the end of the 2023/24 league season.
The young striker has been making waves in Ghanaian football with his impressive performances, and his signing is expected to bolster the attacking options for Hearts of Oak.
In his first preseason friendly with Hearts of Oak, Boateng featured in a 3-3 draw with Bechem United at Pobiman on Wednesday afternoon. His experience and dynamic playmaking ability will undoubtedly bring a new dimension to the Phobians’ attack.
During his time at Legon Cities, Boateng made 28 appearances and scored six goals.
