Moses Armah Parker, the President of Medeama SC, has expressed his immense joy and excitement following the team’s triumphant victory in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
With a convincing 3-0 win over Tamale City on the final day of the season, the Yellow and Mauves finished ahead of Aduana Stars with a total of 60 points from 34 matches.
“Very great and I’m very happy today. You can see, we’ve tried for three consecutive times, we were on top but for Covid we couldn’t win. Again, we were on top of the table when the league ended abruptly because of the expose. It’s been back and forth but today, God has made it, it’s our time and title is in Tarkwa”
The last time a team representing the Western Region claimed the Ghana Premier League title was in 1977 when Sekondi Hasaacas emerged as champions.
As the winners of the Ghana Premier League, Medeama will represent Ghana in the upcoming CAF Champions League next season, showcasing their talents on the continental stage.
