English Premier League side Sheffield United FC goalkeeper Jordan Amissah says he promised his grandfather about playing for Ghana one day.
The young shot stopper is in ecstacy after his first time with any of Ghana’s national football teams after his loan spell at Burton Albion in the English lower tier leagues.
According to him, he promised his deceased grandpa when he was still alive that he would one day don the famous Black Stars jersey.
“Since I was young boy it was my dream to have the black star on my chest and represent the country I love with all my heart.”
“It’s a promise I made to my late grandfather. I’m so happy to see this promise become reality but so sad that you are not around to witness it!”, he added.
He played in goal for the U-23 national team (the Black Meteors) against Egyptian Side Zamalek FC U23 team ahead of the upcoming 2023 CAF U-23 Championship in Morocco this month.
