Ghana interim coach Otto Addo says he would love to maintain his job following a successful spell with the team against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Borussia Dortmund Youth team coach was appointed Ghana’s interim trainer with former Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton Manager Chris Hughton alongside George Boateng of Aston Villa were put together for Ghana’s two-legged 2022 FIFA World Cup games against Nigeria.

Otto Addo led Ghana to triumph over the noisy neighbors, the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the two legs, booking qualification for Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Otto Addo speaking in an interview with Takoradi based media outlet Spice FM, disclosed that he wants to be in Qatar with the Black Stars of Ghana.

“My stay was for the two games against Nigeria. We need to discuss this with the Ghana Football Association and my club Dortmund”.

“I will like to continue and be at the World Cup with Ghana. Hopefully, we find solutions”, he said.

Touching on combining jobs at Dortmund and the Black Stars, he said; “It’s a lot of hard work, my family had to suffer because less time was spent with them”.

“I spent hours on zoom meetings with the technical team and I needed to convince other players to join, it was difficult”.

Otto Addo becomes the first Ghanaian to qualify Ghana to FIFA World Cup as a player and a coach. He was a member of the Black Stars squad in Germany 2006 World Cup.
