Ghanaian striker, Inaki Williams has expressed his ambition to fulfill a long-held dream of competing in European football with Athletic Bilbao as he and his brother, Nico, prepare to lead the Basque side in the UEFA Europa League this season.
Following a summer filled with transfer speculation, where Nico was heavily linked with a move to FC Barcelona, the younger Williams ultimately chose to remain at Athletic Club for another season—a decision that Inaki reportedly influenced.
“Now we have a dream to fulfill, like the whole team. There are few of us who have had the chance to play in European competition with Athletic, and now we are going to fulfill the dream of many,” Inaki said, reflecting the collective ambition of the squad.
This Europa League campaign presents a significant opportunity for Athletic Club to chase European glory, with both Inaki and Nico expected to play pivotal roles.
Last season, the Williams brothers helped the club secure the Copa del Rey title, marking their first cup win in 40 years.
