Equatorial Guinea is among the eight countries remaining at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations after they eliminated Mali on Wednesday during the Round of 16.
There were three Guinea countries at this tournament – Guinea, Guinea Bissau and Equatorial Guinea and the only latter is the only one still at the competition.
After beating Algeria in the group stages, they pulled another big outcome – to eliminate Mali 6-5 on penalties after 0-0 draw in 120 minutes. They had their plan, to try to stretch the game as much as they can and they succeeded.
The Nzalang Nacional will meet Sadio Mané’s Senegal in the next round on Sunday from at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.
Senegal are still the favorites but Aliou Cisse and his charges know that they will underrate Equatorial Guinea at your own peril.
