Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku expressed his frustration after receiving a red card during Leicester City’s recent 3-1 defeat against Coventry City in the Sky Bet Championship.
The 19-year-old prodigy faced a three-match suspension following his dismissal, but upon his return to action, he wasted no time in making an impact. Issahaku provided an assist in Leicester’s commanding 5-0 victory over Stoke City.
Determined to maintain his impressive form during his loan stint from Sporting Lisbon, the talented attacker is focused on contributing significantly to his team’s success.
Reflecting on his red card, Issahaku admitted, “It was so painful for me. This was the game I wanted to win, but unfortunately, I got a red card. It was so bad. I felt so disappointed.”
However, he remains resolute about bouncing back stronger, emphasizing his commitment to achieving the team’s objectives.
“I’ll be so much stronger and more effective now I’m back because I have to achieve what we have fought for now. We want to end this season on top of the table,” he affirmed.
Despite his setback, Issahaku has proven to be a vital asset for Leicester City, amassing eight assists and two goals in 24 league appearances in his debut season with the club.
Notably, he opted out of contention for selection to the Black Stars squad for the 2023 AFCON campaign.
