Serie B side AC Reggiana have officially secured the services of Italian-born Ghanaian midfielder Justin Kumi on a six-month loan deal from US Sassuolo.
The move is aimed at providing the 20-year-old with more playing time, as opportunities have been limited at his parent club.
In a statement on their official website, Reggiana announced:
“The Granata midfield is strengthened with the arrival of Justin Kumi. AC Reggiana announces the loan signing of the 2004-born midfielder from US Sassuolo until the end of the season. A product of Sassuolo’s youth academy, Kumi won the Italian Primavera title last season and made his Serie A debut against Napoli.
Welcome to Reggio Emilia, Justin!”
Kumi has made three appearances for Sassuolo in the current Serie B campaign. His loan spell at Reggiana offers him the chance to gain valuable experience and contribute to the club’s midfield for the remainder of the season.
Although Kumi has represented Italy at the U18 and U19 levels, he remains eligible to play for Ghana at the senior international level due to his Ghanaian heritage.
