Former England striker Michael Owen has lauded Jordan Ayew for his stunning goal in Crystal Palace’s clash against Everton at Goodison Park.
Ayew, representing Ghana, broke the deadlock with a remarkable strike from outside the box in the 60th minute of the match. Despite Ayew’s brilliance, Everton’s substitute Amadou Onana leveled the score with a late goal in the 84th minute.
Impressed by Ayew’s performance, Owen described the goal as “wonderful,” highlighting Ayew’s exceptional technique that left Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford helpless.
“Ayew gets the ball out of his feet and it’s just a wonderful strike from 20 yards out and it’s a lovely strike. There’s nothing much the keeper can do about that. The ball just drops to Ayew and it’s a great strike,” Owen commented on the goal.
The goal marked Ayew’s third of the season, adding to his impressive tally of eight goal contributions in the ongoing 2023/24 campaign.
In his post-match remarks, Ayew credited his teammates for their collective effort and expressed gratitude to God for the goal, emphasizing the importance of securing a point for the team.
With Ayew’s impactful performance, Crystal Palace continues to rely on his goal-scoring prowess as they navigate through the challenges of the season.
