Ghanaian midfielder Hans Nunoo Sarpei has shared his thoughts on making history with Finnish giants HJK Helsinki.
The 25-year-old concluded his Bundesliga journey after six years of plying his trade in the top three divisions of German football. Sarpei penned a two-year deal with the option of an additional year during the winter transfer window to join HJK.
Prior to his move to Finland, the former Ghana youth international had been inactive since his contract with Ingolstadt expired last summer.
Sarpei sees this transition as an opportunity to script a fresh narrative in his career.
“While it’s understandable that people might think I’ve been on the sidelines for a while, it’s often overlooked that quality remains quality, and my skills haven’t diminished. I’ve also been training my physical condition practically every day to be ready when the time comes,” he shared with the club’s official website.
When asked if he views this move as a career restart, Sarpei responded, “I wouldn’t use that term myself. I would rather say that it’s time to start writing a new chapter in my story together with HJK and its great supporters and get to share every moment together.”
“I am grateful to HJK’s club management, coaching staff, and players for giving me the opportunity to enjoy football again!” he added.
