Ghanaian midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp has outlined his goal-scoring ambitions for the upcoming English Premier League season with Crystal Palace.
Despite not featuring in the Eagles’ opening day defeat to Brentford, the 31-year-old is eager to make a significant impact in the 2024/25 campaign.
Schlupp, who impressed during pre-season by scoring in three consecutive matches, is expected to play a vital role for Palace this season due to his experience and versatility. Although he managed only two goals in 29 appearances last season, Schlupp is determined to boost his goal tally this year.
Speaking to Crystal Palace TV, Schlupp shared his aspirations for the season: “I wish I had that form in the Premier League! I managed to score a few goals this pre-season, and I’m happy with how I performed. In terms of a goal target, any more than last year would be good for me, but hopefully, we just have a successful season altogether. If I can chip in with some goals and assists, I’ll be happy with that.”
Schlupp also expressed his hope that the team’s hard work will pay off, providing fans with plenty to cheer about as the season progresses.
“We’ve worked so hard and hopefully we can give [the fans] something good to shout about on the first day.”
