Ghanaian defender John Boye is wearing the captain’s armband this afternoon as Metz takes on Sporting Charleroi in a preseason game at the Stade Saint Symphorien.
Boye first led the team as skipper in February this year against Amiens and manager Vincent Hognon seems to like his leadership qualities.
The 33-year-old centre-back is likely to be handed the captaincy in permanent basis ahead of next season as he commands lots of respect both on and off the field.
The veteran defender played a key role last season as Metz survived relegation from the top-tier.
He extended his contract by one-more year this summer.
